This I Believe Essay

I believe the school, Nampa High, should offer off-campus food. The school food doesn’t cut or even scratch us, the student’ savoury taste buds. If the school were to offer food outside of campus, they would make a profit, have more kids eat lunch, and lower the number of kids that leave campus to have lunch outside of school. This has worked great in the past. Just look at Skyview; they get Panda Express delivered to them once every week.

The school is able to make profit off this. They can charge the suppliers a good amount of money so that way they aren’t totally robbing the school. This would help save the school money too by not having to buy as much school made food for each student. If a lot of the students buy from the vendors, the school can start charging them more therefore making the even more money than they would normally. In addition, the student would be happy with their meal so it’s a win-win deal.

Every day, it is approximated that only two-thirds, as said from the leadership group, of the students actually eat school food. A lot of the people don’t like the food because of the funds that go into it that make it taste the way it does. Some people say it even tastes as bad as prison food. I believe this can be changed if the school sold food outside of school because the vendors actually have the necessary money to make it taste better and expand the possibilities.

In addition to this, the number of students that leave campus for better lunch would dramatically drop. They shouldn’t be doing it first of all because it’s against school policy and secondly, the school will not lose money if the students stay and eat at school. The number of students leaving would hugely decrease if this were to take effect. The only students that I believe would still leave campus are the ones that don’t like the food.

In conclusion, this is why I believe that the school should offer food outside of campus. The school would make a good profit from it earning them more than what they would normally make. More students would eat lunch and not starve until dinner. To conclude, less people would break the policy of leaving campus during lunch break.
